FEATURE CAR RACE FOR THE OCTOBER MEETING IS “HALLOWEEN ORANGE CARS”.

WE ARE HOLDING THE QUARTER FINAL RACES THIS MONTH AS WELL. DO TO THE MEETING CHANGE LAST MONTH WE PUT IT OFF ONE MONTH

SEPTEMBER MEETING IS THIS WEDNESDAY THE 15TH

I know it’s been awhile but I thought I’d give everyone a break from Summer Smash and hot wheels for a little bit. Summer Smash was a huge success with almost 400 people through the doors, not to mention the many walk ins we had all weekend long. Everything went so well. The weather was great for the Saturday cruise with close to 100 cars showing up, this will certainly be an event every year at the Smash. We all love cars and the cars that were at the Smash from Pope Design, M&S, Jimmy Chavez and Liberty just highlighted the great time we all had. I know Mattel had a good time and please go to www.hotwheelscollectors.com to read how Chris Parker enjoyed the event. We have signed the hotel for the next two years so we are underway with more plans for another great year. I would like to thank everyone who attended the Smash it was great to see old and new friends.

People came from the United Kingdom, Brazil, and all over the United States. The Summer Smash Staff is to be commended for their hard work and dedication to the Smash and I will always be dedicated to them. The real success is the fact that we have sent another child to Disney, which is truly the greatest achievement of the Rhode Island Hot Wheels Club.

At the September meeting we will start again having a great time, there will be plenty to talk about and plenty to do. I hope to have a large turnout, there will be some surprise raffles and great displays of all the newest things that hot wheels is coming out with. Your not going to want to miss this meeting.

The feature race this month will be the Drag Bus always a great time so break out your favorite bus and let’s race.

September 18^th is Kmart/sears days so get ready for some more cool variations. And a chance to get the “ThunderRoller” mail away.

October 13^th Mattel will put on there convention in Los Angeles California, this is the grand daddy of all Convention, if you can make it, don’t miss it.

As bad as things seem at times in this country and in our own backyard we can always count on Hot Wheels to brighten our day. Hope to see everyone at the next meeting it will truly be a good time.

Just to keep everyone on track the Rhode Island Hot Wheels Club is developing a new web site full of cool stuff. E commerce, chat rooms and such, stay tuned for the launch.
